About me: I love God and I love my husband.   I am a journalist.  I'm stoked about sociological theory.  I enjoy being the devil's advocate so that I can better understand the people whose perspectives differ from mine.  I enjoy challenges.  Latino culture intrigues me.

My education: My BA was mailed to me in 2009.  It didn't specify my majors or minor (sociology, spanish, english), nor did it mention any spectacular grades...  What will I do with this piece of paper?  Your guess is as good as mine.  Well, it might have helped me get to my current place in Ryerson's master's of journalism program, I suppose.  I will tell you this, though: the post-secondary education that this paper represents was worth every penny and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned to think critically.  I was blessed enough to be in a program that allowed me the freedom to challenge 'normal' modes of thought and think outside of a pre-determined framework of knowledge.

More about me: I am on a life-long journey with the sole purpose of getting to know God better. He is my anchor; he has brought me through much, and has unfailingly answered many many prayers. One thing I struggle with is living in a country with so much abundance. It's difficult to not take things forgranted and hard not to get caught up in a materialistic life pattern. I loathe it but often I find myself caught in it.  I also struggle with complacency.  It is my worst enemy yet I find myself in a rut of comfort and indifference. My prayer is for God to challenge me, refine my character, and place me in situations where I need him... These challenges are what draw me close to God because when I realize that my own strength is laughable and embarassingly dysfunctional compared to God's, then I cannot be complacent towards his power, love, wisdom, justice, peace, and faithfulness.

There's lots more to say, but not now.
